WOGHL Playoffs

Playoff loops will be determined by January 15.  Scheduling instructions will be sent to each team scheduler at that time.

1.         Teams will be divided into Playoff Divisions based on Winning percentage in regular season divisions and level,  and will be separate of regular season in each age group. Some teams may move up or down from regular season groups (B down, C down/up or HL up) to play equal caliber teams based on regular season games and competition level. It will be taken into account the division of teams in the most fair determination by the scheduler.  Teams will play a balanced schedule where possible.   Each team will play 8-10 playoff games.  U15BB and U18BB will be tiered 1 and 2 and will stay within their regular season BB Division because they play longer game lengths.

2.        Playoff scheduling will be done via team schedulers as was done in the Regular Season.  Scheduling can be completed via email or phone. Each associations OWHA/WOGHL Reps are to ensure the contact information is up to date for team contacts and scheduling contacts on their organization web site.

Round Robin Games will be played between January 19 and March 17. ( a buffer from March 18 to March 23 is built in for rescheduled games due to inclement weather)

Seeding Tie Breakers:
The League will from time to time have to determine placement of teams in the round robin playoff standings who have equal points. (placement is by points, 2pts for a win and 1 pt for a tie). Therefore the League will use the following to further determine placement by using.

3.   Divisional Quarter Finals/Semi Finals will be 1 game and the higher seed after the round robin playoffs will be the home team. The top 4 teams in each playoff group will play in the Quarter Final/Semi Final in each division.  1vs4 and 2vs3 the higher seed will be the home team. (Some Divisions will be divided into 2 groups geographically, there would then be a Divisional Semi Final for each geographic group with 1 winner from each meeting at the Day of Champions)

4.    A Day of Champions with All Playoff Divisions playing a 1 game final will be held April 5 hosted by the Bluewater Hawks.
The Winners of the Semi Final games will play a 1 game final and the higher playoff seed remaining will be the Home Team.
