These teams will be responsible for scheduling a Best of 3 or Best of 5 Series to determine the Group Champion & Finalist.  Both teams must agree to the series duration and to the period lengths. The agreed upon Series Format is to be submit to the WOGHL Scheduler & President for approval.

Start Date: March 18, 2019
Finish Date: March 31, 2019

No curfews will be allowed in any Playoff game

NO Pickup Players in the playoffs without the prior consent of the Division Convener and the League president. (See WOGHL Rules & Regulations. Rule 8d.)

Home Ice Advantage:

The "Higher Placed" team in the regular season will have Home ice advantage throughout the Playoffs.

Overtime & Tie Breaker Rule for Finals:

No overtime in any games. The only exception would be in the final game of a series, if the series is tied at the end of regulation in the final game of the series then:

  1. 10 Minute sudden victory overtime period will be played to decide the winner. The home team is responsible for sufficient ice time in the final game.

  2. If the game is still tied after the overtime period then the teams will proceed to a shootout. Each team will be given three shots, unless the outcome is determined earlier in the shootout.

  1. After each team has taken three shots, if the score remains tied, the shootout will proceed to a "sudden Victory" format.

  2. No player may shoot twice until everyone who is eligible has shot. If, however, because of injury or penalty, one team has fewer players eligible for the shootout than its opponent, both teams may select from among the players who have already shot. This procedure would continue until the team with fewer players has again used all eligible shooters.

  3. Players serving penalties at the end of the game are not eligible.

  4. Regardless of the number of goals scored during the shootout portion of overtime, the final score recorded for the game will give the winning team one more goal than its opponent, based on the score at the end of overtime.

Please have a copy of the Overtime & Tie Breaker Rules for Finals with your game sheet for the Final Game of the series.  Present to the referees so that there is no confusion on the format and shootout rules.
